After detecting something weird with his testicles in the shower, BARRY HUMPHRIES realized he had a rare form of skin cancer.
Barry Humphries, better known as Dame Edna Everage, has revealed that he was diagnosed with Paget’s Disease, a type of skin cancer. Following the finding, the Australian actor revealed that he had surgery.
While he was in the shower, the 87-year-old observed “something weird” with his testicles.
Extramammary Paget’s disease was later detected, according to the author (EMPD).
It looks like a patch of eczema and commonly affects the skin around the anus and in the vaginal area.
It is most common in those over the age of 50, with research indicating that it peaks around the age of 65.
Barry had this to say: “The scrotum is a forgiving place.
“These reassuring remarks were spoken by a renowned surgeon just before he deracinated a horrible excrescence in a dark portion of my anatomy.”
Following the diagnosis, the Dame Edna actress revealed that he had to undergo surgery.
In his column for The Oldies magazine, Barry said, “I had the unusual Extramammary Paget’s illness, first spotted under the shower – therefore it was a general anesthesia and the knife.”
“Paget’s can affect a woman’s breasts, but it rarely, if ever, affects a man’s front botty.”
According to the Daily Actor, the on-screen star noted that it was his first procedure in a long time.
Barry revealed that the last time he underwent surgery was for a burst appendix.
