Extramammary Paget’s disease (EMPD) is a rare skin cancer that most often appears around the genitalia, groin and perianal regions in women and men. It can also appear elsewhere in the body. EMPD can look innocuous and is often ignored. However, early diagnosis helps tremendously with the treatment of the disease. If you suspect you might have EMPD, see your doctor. Dr. Andreas Kaiser, MD, graduated in 1988 from the University of Zurich in Switzerland. After an internship in Surgical Pathology, Dr. Kaiser trained in General Surgery at the University Hospital of Zurich, interrupted by a two year research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He completed a fellowship in Visceral Surgery at the University Hospital in Zurich, and in Colorectal Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at USC.
Dr. Curtis Pettaway is an urologist in Houston, Texas and is affiliated with University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Pettaway is one of 18 doctors at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center who specialize in Urology.
Dr. Terrence A. Cronin, Jr. is a dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon in Melbourne, FL and is affiliated with two hospitals in the area, including Holmes Regional Medical Center and University of Miami Hospital. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Dr. Hugh Greenway, MD is the chairman of Mohs and dermatologic surgery at Scripps Clinic. He was fellowship trained in Mohs Skin Cancer Surgery by Dr. Frederic E. Mohs at the University of Wisconsin and has performed more than 31,000 Mohs surgery cases at Scripps Clinic for skin cancers of all types.
Dr. Viraj Master, MD is a Professor of Urology at the Emory University School of Medicine, Associate Chair for Clinical Affairs and Quality, and Director of Clinical Research Unit. Dr. Master’s primary clinical interest is urologic oncology, in particular kidney cancer, adrenal tumors, testicular cancer, high-risk prostate cancer and penile cancers.
Dr. Hadley Wyre, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Urology at The University of Kansas Cancer Center - South. Dr. Wyre earned his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He completed both a urology residency and fellowship in Trauma / Reconstructive Urology from Emery University as well.
Dr. Meine graduated from The University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed his intern year in internal medicine at The University of Utah. His dermatology residency was at the The University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ. He then completed a two year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Otley is professor and chair of the department of dermatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He majored in religion at Williams College, received his medical degree at Duke University, completed a residency in dermatology at Harvard University and then a fellowship in Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at Mayo Clinic.
