Dr. Janiel M. Cragun, MD

Dr. Janiel Cragun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona. She is fellowship-trained in the specialty of gynecology oncology.

Dr. Cragun specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers such as endometrial and ovarian cancers as well as rare reproductive cancers, abnormal pap smears, high-risk cancer screening and fertility preservation. She offers surgical interventions to include both radical and minimally invasive procedures. She also offers chemotherapeutic and palliative interventions.

Before completing the gynecologic oncology fellowship program at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Dr. Cragun earned her medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City, Utah; completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina; and pursued a post-doctoral research fellowship at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research
Institute, Tampa, Florida. Dr. Cragun’s research interests are centered in ovarian cancer and the genetic mechanisms which influence its characteristics.
